Pitch & public speaking coaching, in English

A pitch isn't recited.It's performed.

I'm Léo Barcet, a French actor and stage director. Fundraise, demo day, jury: I write your pitch with you, then train you to deliver it: voice, body, silences. In English, even if it isn't your first language. It isn't mine either.

Act IThe problem

You know your subject inside out. So why doesn't it land?

You prepared. You went over your slides ten times. Then the moment you start speaking, in English, to people who matter, something slips.

  1. 01

    Your heart races

Your hands shake, your voice tightens. Everything you planned blurs from the very first sentence.

  2. 02

    Your ideas scatter

You say everything, in no particular order. The key point gets lost and your listener tunes out before the end.

  3. 03

    You end up apologizing

For the time you took, for the demo, for your project, sometimes for your English. And with every apology, a little credibility walks out the door.

A lone figure on a dark stage

It isn't a lack of talent. It's a craft no one ever taught you.

Act IIThe turning point

You don't have a content problem. You have a staging problem.

In theater, no one walks on stage with a half-learned script and hopes for the best. We write for the ear, we rehearse, we set every entrance. That's exactly what I do with your pitch.

  • The playwright

I write for the spoken word: sentences that are easy to say, even in a second language, a structure that carries people along, an ending they remember.

  • The director

I set the rhythm, the key moments, and an opening that holds attention from the first few seconds.

  • The actor

Voice, breath, eye contact, silence, gesture: the actor's tools, for a presence people can feel.

  • The teacher

Training adults since 2021, I start from where you are and rehearse with you until it feels easy.

Act IIIThe S.C.E.N.E. method

Five steps to take you from script to stage.

Every program follows the same thread, shaped around your project, your voice and the deadline ahead.

The transformation

What your audience sees change.

Before

  • A talk that just walks through the slides
  • A voice that speeds up under stress
  • A project explained, not embodied
  • Questions that throw you off
  • An ending that apologizes

After

  • A story that hooks from the first sentence
  • A steady pace, silences you own
  • Conviction people can see and hear
  • Prepared answers, delivered calmly
  • A clear ask that sticks

Act IVYour coach

Fifteen years on stage, now put to work for your pitch.

I'm Léo Barcet. I trained as an actor at Cours Florent in Paris, earned a degree in theater studies at the Sorbonne Nouvelle, and spent fifteen years writing, acting and directing.

For five years I ran a company of twelve artists, all the way to the stage of La Ferronnerie in Paris. I wrote and performed Bulle, a solo show staged six times in three countries, for more than 500 people.

Since 2021 I've also trained adults: more than 3,000 hours of teaching, including oral communication, with entire cohorts taken through to a French state certification.

French is my first language, and I speak English with an accent. It has never stopped an audience from listening. What persuades is structure, story, presence and rhythm: that's what the stage taught me, and that's what I pass on. Presence isn't a gift. It can be learned.

FAQ

Before you book, you're probably wondering…

Another question? Write to me.

How does the free diagnostic work?

20 minutes on video. You tell me about your project, your audience and your deadline. I tell you what works, what's holding you back, and which format fits best. No commitment: you leave with concrete next steps, whether you work with me or not.

Will you work on my accent or pronunciation?

No, and that's deliberate. Your English is very likely good enough. What makes a pitch land is structure, story, presence and rhythm, and that's what we work on. If pronunciation is your main goal, an accent coach will serve you better.

Are the sessions in English or French?

In the language you will pitch in. If French helps you think something through, we can switch at any moment, then take it back into English.

My pitch is in ten days. Is it too late?

No. Essentials and The Pitch can be condensed into a few days. Mention your date when you book: we'll focus on what will make the biggest difference on the day.

What if I'm really uncomfortable speaking in public?

That's the most common starting point. We go step by step: breathing and grounding first, then the script, then rehearsal. Stage fright doesn't always go away, but it stops making decisions for you.

Do you really write the pitch for me?

With you. In The Pitch and The Speaker, I draft the script from our conversations, then we refine it until it sounds like you, not like something memorized. In English, that also means sentences you can say with ease, even under pressure.

Are sessions held online?

Yes, 100% on video, scheduled across time zones: we find slots that work where you are. Video has a real advantage: we record, we review, we refine.

Does it work for my industry?

The method is about how to persuade, not about a particular industry. Startups, consulting, sales, nonprofits: we start from your audience and what you need from them.

What is the guarantee?

30 days, money back: if you're not satisfied within 30 days of finishing your program, I'll refund you in full, on a reasoned request. What counts as one, and the conditions, are in the terms and conditions.
